Fort Riley's family housing areas encompass five appealing communities, each with its own unique character. Our beautiful grounds are landscaped and maintained by professionals to help you feel at peace with your surroundings. Come and workout in one of our fully stocked gyms, cool off in our swimming pools, enjoy a game of pool, or just relax on our barbeque patios. Each neighborhood also offers meeting rooms, computer labs, and a multipurpose room. It is our job to help you feel home.

    Forsyth Home Exterior

    Colyer Forsyth

    Colyer Forsyth, is located in the southwestern region of the post and is convenient to the Commissary and PX. You'll enjoy proximity to numerous amenities including parks, playing fields and a 13,000 square foot Community Center with an outdoor, resort-style pool.

    Historic Main Post

    Make yourself at home in the middle of the rich history of Fort Riley in this beautiful historic neighborhood.  The community encompasses 285 homes that reflect the post’s rich heritage with its beautiful period architecture.  Take a stroll and explore some of Fort Riley’s post highlights like the US Cavalry Museum, Custer House, Artillery Parade Field, and so much more.  There is history on every corner of Historic Main Post.  Resident’s love the location of this neighborhood, near Irwin Army Hospital, Riley’s Conference Center, the dog park, and many more outdoor spots for activity and exploration.  Historic Main Post is centrally located, giving you easy access to the interstate to explore many of the surrounding communities. 

    McClellan Place Home

    The McClellan Place neighborhood is in the North west corner of Fort Riley in close proximity to restaurants, the bowling alley, movie theater, an elementary school, and the Candlewood Suites Army Hotel, along with many of The Big Red 1 units.  As you stroll through the McClellan Place Neighborhood Center you will catch a compelling glimpse into Fort Riley’s past enhanced with some of Kansas’ beautiful prairie.  From enlisted to officer, McClellan Place has something for everyone!  While you are here, enjoy a game of pool in our rustic and cozy Club Room, whip up a quick snack in the adjacent kitchen and host an FRG meeting in our reservable multi-purpose room.  Down the hall is a quaint gym for all residents to use and in the warmer months, unwind next to the pool.

    Warner Peterson Home

    Feel at home nestled atop Custer Hill in the Warner Peterson neighborhood.  This neighborhood is in close proximity to many of Custer Hill’s amenities like restaurants, shopette, bank, and the Fort Riley Post Office.  With easy access to many neighborhood playgrounds, the Outdoor Adventure Park, an elementary and middle school, and the Fort Riley Youth Center, it’s an ideal location for families with children of any age.  The Warner Peterson Community Center is centrally located for all residents to enjoy and provides residents with several amenities including a swimming pool, fitness center with attached playroom for children, computer lab and game room. 

    Ellis Heights

    Ellis Heights

    Ellis Heights is located in the North East region of Fort Riley and perfect for a family of any size. Nestled atop Custer Hill, this neighborhood is near the Outdoor Adventure Park, ATV trails, the Fort Riley Post Office, Irwin Army Community Hospital, and within walking distance to both an elementary and middle school. The Ellis Heights Community Center provides a look out point for one of the most gorgeous views of Fort Riley. The Community Center offers a full-service kitchen, a multipurpose room available for private gatherings and parties, a fitness center is outfitted with a modest selection of exercise equipment complete with a window viewing the adjacent children’s room. This peaceful community is a great place to relax poolside and take in the serenity of nature around you.
